這次的期中評圖可以說比上次更尖銳更嚴苛,因為是開始我們最後設計的方向,我們要把設計題目與關心的議題構思清楚,這次沒有充分準備好要怎麼講解我的設計,第一句話就覺得思緒不太清晰,第二句話就被打斷問問題,也很一針見血的問了我也沒有想清楚的問題。他們要的事很清楚的定義或描述,不需繁雜艱澀的專業述詞,好的設計建立在兩句話可以講完而且顯而易懂的文字。我的問題就在於有太多的方向的想法,試圖構築再一起,但個個連結之間還是存在許多縫隙與不明確。因此這次的平圖變成是老師在市圖理解我的設計,而非真的可以針對我的議題深入探討,整體來說是平的不好,因為也沒有太多討論而只是不斷的回答問題,有點死在台上的感覺。還有五個月的時間我想我需要靜下來想想我的主軸會是什麼,怎樣掌握我既有的資訊並延展到清晰的設計,呼,還有很長的路要走。

The 19th Tee

Following from the golf course in the first term, I introduce a mini golf course inside the dust vessel, the out line of laser cut piece is the terrain of the 19th tee, and the covering is the dust that forms the dusty landscape on the surface which continues changing when hitting the ball.

The Dirty House - some definition

The Dirty House - a space exist in the unobserved motion space

Dusty Window - a slim space that is occupied with dust particles which form the unequal transparency for light coming through, it is the lens that filters and projects the shimmering light.

Dusted Object - the partial geometry of object that covered by dust in the space that causes the blur of visualization, the object geometry that is continues shifting over time.

Dusted Room - the space which is constructed without volume but with the motion dust particles that aggregate as a dust cloud, the fluctuating cloud that surrounds an irregular space.

Dusty Floor - the shifting landscape in the space that is revealing the motion trajectories by the object imprinted trace on the layered surface of dust.

Design Propositional Draft

+ Introduction – The Blurring Territory
The environment surrounds us is based on a non-static territory, object moves and shift all the time, the random conversation and the oscillating landscape, it is a problem of describing the blurred object and space within the distorted perspective. These factors cause the blur, which is the loss of depicting the object, and it is the delusion of making believe by visualizing (Oscar 1970). The blurred space is a space that exists between the both the occurred and the occurring trajectories of a moving object. This is the place where a time space overlaps and it extent to the idea of the partial geometry of the object and the fragmented memory of visualization.

+ Design Programme - The Unobserved Phenomenological Landscape
It is the event field of accidences in the space that always influencing the phenomenological landscape, the landscape that oscillates all the time. In the Plenum (Leibniz Monadology) which described by Leibniz is that the world is full of matter, everything is full that any movement must have an influence. It is an architectural programme of discussing the unseen dimension and the occluded motion object within the blur space, the revealing the issue of between things that is partial and memorial as traces of Impulses or motions. Moreover, it can lead to the subject of the perspective of the occluded object and the depiction as point in time of the un-programmed environment..

+ Methodology of Work – Dust, Dusted Object, Dirty House, Dusty Landscape
There is always a small bit of something that can describe the whole universe. The Moton introduces the smallest indivisible matter of motion, it is the hidden substance for depicting movement in the space. All motion object consist the Moton that are triggered by impulses, the energy that arose the object matter into motion condition. The dust, the tiny substance that scattered and covered the object in the space is the sensitive matter that can reveal the trace of phenomenon and the accident during a movement. The surface of covered and submerged object is the dusty landscape that created by motion object, and the trace, the after effect, is the notation of the event field. It’s a whole system of recording, projecting and mapping mechanism that programmed in this dirty house, an language of describing the motion, event field, blurred geometry and phenomenological landscape.

Blending Sound inside the Bunker

Finally I tested out the method of amplifying the sound from the microphone and playback it back simultaneously, now is how to plug the speaker instead of headset, the speaker that mixing the sound of the dust and the surface vibration of the speaker that forms the dust movement. An interesting discover through this making, is the idea of stereo sound, it is a juxtaposition of two source, the blending sound of the bunker where one is the microphone that attached inside the dusty window and the other record the event sound of vicinity. Two sound from different state of the movement then transfer into the speaker that makes the vibration underneath, the motion of the dust then become the collapsing idea of occured and occuring trajectories, a system of blending sound inside the bunker.

Spraying Particles

I took some more photos this morning, get to experience of walking in the particle flow, the phenomenon of the dusty landscape, it's a paradox of using snow to describe dust, the conflict of dirt and cleanness, but maybe looked it as motion trace and shifting geography rather than the dirty meaning of dust.

First image is a very simple idea of the covering and the partial revealing of the dusty landscape, the part of object that never form in a whole piece. Moreover the flowing particles is continues shifting the outline of the object, this could be related to the idea of blur, the partial memory of us visualizing objects. This is an object that is not in motion but the motion of the covering particles makes the blur, which is the static blurred object. I could introduce this idea as DUSTED OBJECT.

Second image describe the condition of substance shifting from hairy flake to viscosity dirt, the consequence of squashing the lode of snow. Derives from the physical phenomenon, the regelation, the pressure that changes the melting point of snow. It's the moment when our shoes stepping on the snow that melt ice and mixed dirt within the ice, the instant time when the trace of dust is blended into the space, the squeezed space that freezing the event as the occurred trajectories of motion, the space of time and location overlapped. It could be another system of my project, the DUSTY ICE.

Third image is basically the after effect of the dusty landscape, the imprint of the motion onto the surface as the trace of the motion object. By integrating the idea of dusty ice and the trace, it could be the overlapping of occurred trajectories, the dusty ice, and the occurring trajectories which is the motion particles that fly around when object travelling through, the sprayed ice scattered around the imprint. This is the field where present and past time and location overlapping into a space, the previous idea of the bunker.
